(Long Island, NY) The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of James C. Marckesano, 24 of Hempstead on November 23, 2015 in Houston, Texas for a Homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 04, 2015 at 4:41 am in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Victor Benitez, 28, from Hempstead was found lying on the ground on Clinton Street. The victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:45 am.

Marckesano was extradited to Nassau County on December 8, 2015 and is charged with Murder 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
