(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a one-car crash that critically injured an Islandia woman on Monday, November 2.
Winterjane Preston was driving her 2011 Hyundai west on the Long Island Expressway when she apparently lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail at approximately 12:45 p.m. The vehicle then went off the roadway and onto the north shoulder at exit 62 in Farmingville.

Preston, 30, of Islandia, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Ronkonkoma Fire Department ambulance where she was treated for a head injury. There were no passengers in her vehicle.
The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
