(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police have arrested a man who robbed a store in Sayville on Friday, October 16.
Scott Tangel, 44, entered Ralph’s Italian Ices, located at 153 Main St., displayed a knife and demanded cash from the store employee. The employee complied and Tangel fled the store on foot.

A short time later, Fifth Squad detectives located Tangel at the Long Island Railroad Station in Sayville and arrested him after he was identified by a witness. Tangel, of Sayville, was charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
Tangel is being held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 17.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
