(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Medford on Thursday, December 3.
A 20-year-old male was operating a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on County Road 101 in Medford at approximately 3:40 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a 2000 Honda that was traveling southbound on County Road 101, attempting to turn left onto Harrison Avenue.

The motorcyclist was airlifted by a Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Honda, Carolina Carrion-Maura, 22, of Patchogue, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries.
The vehicles have been impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
