(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a male pedestrian in Copiague on Thursday, September 17.
Timothy Meyers, 17, was driving a 2004 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on Sunrise Highway at Bayview Avenue when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway at approximately 2:40 p.m.

The pedestrian, Jorge Molina, 60, of North Amityville, was transported via North Amityville Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Meyers, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
