(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Yaphank on Thursday, October 1.
A 51-year-old man was struck by a box truck on Patchogue Yaphank Road in Yaphank at approximately 8 p.m. The man was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
