(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Shirley on Monday, June 1.
A man entered New York Commercial Bank, located at 950 Montauk Highway, approached a teller and displayed what appeared to be a black handgun. The suspect produced a note demanding cash and the teller complied with the suspect’s demands. The man fled in waiting vehicle described by witnesses as a black sedan.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 40s with a medium build and approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The investigation is continuing.
