(Long Island, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrest of a Uniondale man for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 8:38 a.m. in Hicksville.
According to Second Squad detectives, the defendant Syaleek Anderson, 19 of 50 Patterson Avenue entered the American Mini Mart located at 99 Railroad Plaza armed with a knife and stabbed a male victim clerk 49 years of age, in the back. As Anderson began placing the money from the register into a bag, the victim ran outside the store and locked the defendant inside.

According to Nassau County Police, Syaleek Anderson entered the Hicksville American Mini Mart armed with a knife and stabbed a male victim clerk 49 years of age, in the back.
Upon police arrival Anderson resisted arrest by flailing his arms and kicking his feet while the officers placed him under arrest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. The knife was recovered at the scene.
Anderson is charged with (2) two counts Robbery 1st degree, (1) one count of Assault 1st degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
