(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau is investigating a Robbery (Attempt) that occurred in Wantagh on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:15 pm.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, an unknown male subject entered into the TD Bank located at 3222 Sunrise Highway with a long bladed knife with a with a black handle that was visible in a bag. The subject was then approached by the bank manager at which time the subject fled with the knife leaving the bag behind.

The subject was seen entering a newer white Ford Explorer with its plates covered with yellow paper travelling south on Wantagh Avenue. There were no injuries reported. There were no customers and 7 employees present in the bank.
The subject is described as being white, 6’0” tall, thin build, late 20’s, soft brown hair, black jacket, gray sweat pants, white sneakers, ski mask.
