(Long Island, NY) You’ve created a beautiful piece of artwork. Now how do you share it with the rest of the world? In this Summertime Professional Development Series for Artists learn from professionals on how to present your artwork, articulate your message, and promote yourself.
In the first of three workshops taking place August 2 from 10:00am to 2:00pm, titled How to Photograph your Artwork, photographer Ashley Werter will show artists how to photograph 2-D artwork such as paintings, multimedia collages, or large photographic prints for use in a portfolio, website, or for reproduction. Workshop fee is $85. On August 6 from 7:15pm to 8:15pm, in the Artist’s Self-Promotion Checklist, Debra Wells of Artful Circle will show you what is needed to “brand” yourself as an artist and promote your artwork in today’s market. The evening will give general information on how to craft a consistent professional identity, establish your on-line presence on the internet including social media, and how to write an effective press release and publicize your activities to the media. Workshop fee is $12. The final workshop, on August 22from 1:00pm to 4:00pm titled How to Write an Artist Statement, author, speaker, content creation coach Sue Allen Clayton will guide artists on how to create an Artist Statement that describes your work, reveals your inspiration and expresses your passion.
