(LONG ISLAND, NY) Alan M. Weinstock, CEO of PSCH, and Lance Elder, President and CEO of EAC Network, are proud to announce the formal affiliation of the two non-profit organizations which serve New York City and Long Island with human services programs serving a wide variety of individuals and families with behavioral health and social service needs. Last year, the two agencies served more than 70,000 individuals in the metropolitan area.
Mr. Elder and Mr. Weinstock see many opportunities for synergy and collaboration in this affiliation, which is marked by a shared commitment to quality, service, and innovation. As a first step, both agencies will determine how co-locating programs might better serve the community, offer opportunities for behavioral health care and social service coordination, and reduce administrative expenses. Sharing staff recruitment, development, and training is also planned. Mr. Weinstock and Mr. Elder are proud to announce two initial projects. The agencies are developing an innovative residential model which will coordinate the provision of housing, clinical services, care coordination, and vocational training for justice-involved individuals with mental and/or substance use disorders, building on their combined expertise in forensic case management, specialized housing and clinical care. The second project is the creation of a new model of community-based care, consistent with state and federal health policy: a one-stop experience for individuals in need of treatment for behavioral health issues and co-occurring chronic medical conditions, and who can benefit from adjunctive social service support. “ In an era of health care reform and expansion, our relationship with EAC offers two agencies with complementary services and like-minded leadership to take steps to thrive and enhance services to vulnerable communities”, stated Mr. Weinstock.
Mr. Elder commented, “We at EAC Network are excited by this opportunity to expand social and behavioral health services to our clients. The strategic alliance with PSCH enables both our agencies to move beyond our own areas of expertise into fully integrated and comprehensive services designed to enrich the lives of our clients and enhance our two organizations. In light of the changing face of health care, collaborations such as ours are critical to meet the needs of our communities.”
EAC Network programs protect at-risk children, support senior citizens, help people with mental health and substance abuse problems, educate people seeking financial independence, assist individuals who are under or unemployed, mediate disputes and work with families in crisis. In addition, EAC Network provides clinically focused community support and monitoring for justice-involved individuals throughout the metropolitan area.
PSCH provides comprehensive services for people with developmental, psychological and behavioral disabilities, offering a comprehensive range of programs and services including day treatment, residential, therapeutic, rehabilitation, educational, vocational and social services.
