(Queens, NY) On January 21st in Astoria, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz will install Victoria Schneps, President and Chief Executive Officer, Schneps Communications and Armando Soto, Business Development Associate, Yenni Capital, Inc. to the Queens Council on the Arts board of trustees.

As founder in 1985 of Schneps Communications, Victoria Schneps is Publisher/CEO of groups of weekly community newspapers, websites, events, and social media in Queens and Brooklyn; including the Queens Courier, Brooklyn Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator Magazine. Schneps Communications also publishes El Correo de Queens, and monthly publications including Queens Business, the Long Island City Courier, North Shore Towers Courier, LeHavre Courier, Aspire and Boro Magazine. Ms. Schneps is the recipient of numerous awards for her dedicated community service. She serves on the boards of the Queens Museum of Art, Life’s WORC, South Boys and Girls Club, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and Flushing Bank.
Armando Soto currently works at Yenni Capital, Inc a private equity fund, partnering with US companies and helping them grow. Prior to Yenni, He worked at WHC Capital, LLC. a small cap hedge fund. Armando held positions as an investment banker at Halcyon a boutique investment bank providing financial advice to US middle market companies, as an institutional sales associate at ICM Capital Markets, Armando started his finance career with Merrill Lynch. Armando sits on the board of directors of Ingenicard America, Inc., a privately held cash management company. He also serves on the board of advisers of private and public companies. Armando received his engineering degree from Ocean Tech School. He is fluent in Spanish. In his free time he enjoys helping people follow their passion and dreams. He also enjoys deep sea fishing, cooking, and reading.
The installation will take place at Queens Council on the Arts’ creative workspace, 37-11 35th Avenue, (Entrance on 37th Street) Astoria, 11101 at 6:30pm.
The Borough President will preside over the swearing-in and will be joined by the full board including returning trustees: QCA Board of Trustees President Barbara Pryor, Esq.; Board Secretary Juvenal Reis, President of Reis Studios; Board Treasurer Stephen Martin, VP of Commercial Lending, TD Bank; Catherine Lee, Senior Director at F&T Group, Hal Rosenbluth, President of Kaufman Astoria Studios, Inc. and Gianna Cerbone-Teoli, chef and owner of Manducatis Rustica in Long Island City, who was recently inducted in October 2013.
