(Long Island, NY) Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) and the Board of Directors invite you to join in celebrating the achievements of the 2016 Queens Arts Fund (QAF) Awardees and SU-CASA Residents formally know as SPARC, QCA is proud to support the creative contributions of the borough’s creative citizens.
This year, we are happy to announce that the Queens Arts Fund will distribute 110 grants for a total $242,000 to 25 Queens individual artist grants and 56 arts organization grants in the disciplines of visual arts, film, theatre, multi-media, literary arts, dance and music and 14 SU-CASA artists who have been selected to partner with 14 senior centers across the borough. All of the awardees are an incredible group of creative thinkers, representing a wide range of cultural activities that will take place throughout Queens year round. All awardees were selected in a competitive peer panel process through the 2016 Queens Arts Fund grant cycle.
Expected to attend this annual event are NYC Cultural Affairs Deputy Commissioner Edwin Torres, additional elected officials, as well as many of the finest representatives of Queens’ ever-growing arts community, to acknowledge the awardees and their importance of keeping our borough vibrant with cultural activities in our own neighborhoods.
Queens Arts Fund provides funding for projects throughout the borough in a wide range of disciplines, enabling residents and visitors alike to experience high quality art all year long. SPARC is a community arts engagement program that places artists-in-residence at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City.
