(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens woman for Forgery that occurred on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 8:10 am.
According to detectives, a 21 year old male employee at LA Fitness Health Club located at 3601 Hempstead Turnpike called 911 after he scanned in the defendant Elsie Hobbs, 50, of Bayside and received a prompt stating the member had a warrant for her arrest from an incident that occurred at another LA Fitness in New Jersey.

Second Precinct Police responded and placed Elise Hobbs into police custody without incident after an open warrant was confirmed. Further investigation revealed the defendant was in possession of a Louisiana, Illinois, and Missouri driver’s licenses as well as a Discover card, Chase Debit card and Bank of America debit card all not belonging to her. There were no injuries reported.
Elsie Hobbs is charged with 2 counts Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, and 2 counts Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
