(Long Island, NY) The Crimes Against Property Squad report the arrest of a Queens woman on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 5:45 p.m. for Grand Larceny.
According to detectives, the defendant Joanne Estrada, 44 of 4360 Douglaston Parkway, Apt. 619, was employed as the bookkeeper for Redgrave Electrical Maintenance, of 201 Flamingo Street, Atlantic Beach. Beginning in July 2013 to January 2014 Estrada fraudulently deposited twenty three checks from the company’s check ledger into an account in her name causing a loss to the company in excess of ninety thousand dollars. ($90,000.00). She would then make false entries into the business ledger to conceal the larceny. She was located on Monday, March 31, 2014 at her residence and placed under arrest.

The defendant is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd degree, three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, and one count of Falsifying Business Records 1st degree. She will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
