(Long Island, NY) On Saturday, April 2, 2016, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, honored Tech Sergeant Reggie Peterson, a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient from WWII, at his local church in Greenport. Tech Sergeant Peterson, who served in the 10th Armored Infantry and 20th Battalion of General Patton’s 3rd Army, is one of the last living WWII veterans on Long Island.

Congressman Zeldin is pictured above, left, presenting Tech Sergeant Peterson with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and an American flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol. This was the first time that Tech Sergeant Peterson was formally presented with his Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals.
