Experience Live Reggae and Art Overlooking LI Sound
(Long Island, NY) For a unique outdoor concert experience, Long Islanders can enjoy the music of four live reggae bands while watching more than 50 artists create works of art inspired by the music, scenic views and audience interaction – at MarleyFest taking place at Vanderbilt Museum, Centerport, on Sunday, July 14, noon – 7:30 p.m.
Relax on The Great Lawn overlooking Long Island Sound, listen to the reggae beat of The RBC, Roots Revelators, Nonstop to Cairo, and The Soul Junkies, and watch as more than 50 paintings come to life before your eyes.
The new music/art fusion vogue is sweeping Long Island this summer, thanks to promoter Rich Rivkin. 2013 marks the second season of his Summer Arts Festival Series, with an expanded schedule of 11 outdoor music/art festivals taking place at waterfront parks, museums and college lawns across Long Island.
This summer the Series features a calendar of multi-themed events including Woodstock Revival, Long Island Sound & Art Festival, MarleyFest, North Shore Blues Festival, Grateful Fest, Rock Village Festival, Jamboozi Festival, Live Art Fusion Festival, Rock The Cradle Festival, and Live Art Drum & Dance Fest.
