(Long Island, NY) A Medford man arrested earlier this month with an accomplice for trying to rob a gas station on Route 112 and then successfully robbing a second station on Middle Country Road about 15 minutes later will be arraigned Monday June 29 on an indictment in Riverhead, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
State Supreme Court Justice Martin Efman (third floor of the courthouse) will unseal the indictment bringing charges against Tony Taddonio.

Taddonio, 27, entered the Route 112 Sunoco Station at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday June 6 armed with what appeared to be a handgun. When the clerk grabbed a stick he kept behind the counter, Taddonio fled.
About 15 minutes later, Taddonio entered the Mobil gas station at 372 Middle Country Road and held up the clerk. He fled with approximately $350 but a 6th Precinct patrol officer looking for the suspects for the attempted robbery spotted their vehicle and arrested Taddonio and his accomplice, Michael Iovino, 27, of Islip. The cash and a BB gun believed used in the holdups were recovered, police said.
Iovino pleaded not guilty to a four-count indictment this week charging him with robbery and attempted robbery in the second degree. He is incarcerated in lieu of $30,000 bond.
Justice Efman will call the court calendar at 9:30 am.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
