(Long Island, NY) Catholic Health Services (CHS) recently presented its Living the Mission Award to Quan Brown-Thomas for exemplifying the CHS mission values of respect, justice, integrity and excellence. Brown-Thomas, inpatient manager for the Hospital Revenue Realization Center at CHS Services, was nominated for her outstanding qualities and received the award from CHS President and CEO Alan D. Guerci, MD, at the system’s corporate offices in Melville.
“Quan lives her values in her relationships with her staff and coworkers, demonstrating honesty and trust at all times,” said one colleague. Another stated, “She holds high standards of excellence in her work.” It was also said of her that she “demonstrates that part of treating each person with dignity and reverence is recognizing that everyone is an individual and should be treated as such.”

Brown-Thomas joined CHS in 2007, after having been employed as a worker compensation claims examiner for the Risk Management Planning Group. She leads evangelical outreach efforts in her community and across the state, hosting women’s conferences and visiting hospitals and nursing homes, in addition to teaching Bible studies. Brown-Thomas has received several awards and certificates for her work and is studying for her doctoral degree in theology. A Rockville Centre resident, she and her husband have three children and one grandchild.
