(Long Island, NY) As the 14th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 Attack on America approaches, Rockville Centre Mayor Francis X. Murray announced today that the Village of Rockville Centre will be holding a Candlelight Vigil to honor all those that were lost on that day. The Vigil will be held on Sunday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial on the Village Green in Rockville Centre.
Mayor Murray stated, “Rockville Centre was one of the hardest hit communities on Long Island. We lost 48 members of our Village on that day. It’s important to take time to remember their lives and all they left behind for us. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with their families and loved ones.”
Residents are invited to bring candles and share in the comfort of community during this solemn time.
