(Long Island, NY) A Long Island mother arrested in April for driving while intoxicated with a teenager in the car is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow on an indictment, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
47-year-old Colleen Lopez of Rocky Point was driving a Chevy Tahoe on Patchogue-Yaphank Road when she was stopped by a member of the Suffolk County Police DWI enforcement unit for failure to maintain her lane.

Lopez, who was driving with a 13-year-old female passenger, was charged with driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law and endangering the welfare of a child.
Suffolk County Judge Stephen Braslow in Riverhead will unseal the indictment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
