(Long Island, NY) The Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHoF) has announced the appointment of Ron Alexenburg to its Executive Advisory Board.
Ron Alexenburg comes to the LIMHoF with over 50 years’ experience in the music industry. In 1965, Alexenburg joined CBS Records. He soon moved onto Columbia Records where he became the youngest head of promotion in the company’s history, working with the label’s top talent. He would rise through Columbia Record and eventually be promoted to be the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Epic Records, a division of CBS Records Group. Among the artists that Alexenburg worked directly with were Boston, Meat Loaf, Charlie Daniels and Michael Jackson. Under his helm, Michael Jackson’s Thriller became and still is the best-selling album of all time.
Alexenburg will join an elite list of music legends who currently serve on the LIMHoF Executive Advisory Committee including Sam M. Ash, Gary U.S. Bonds, Felix Cavaliere, Darryl “DMC” McDaniel, Dee Snider, Jimmy Webb, Leslie West, and Dan Zanes. As a member of the advisory board, Alexenburg will support a new capital campaign to help create the LIMHoF’s first home and museum. “Long Island is where I raised my children and have lived for over 40 years. Living and working with artists from this talented region has been a passion of mine and I am excited to provide my assistance with the new building and support this very worthy cause,” says Mr. Alexenburg.
“Ron is a remarkable individual who has influenced the music industry in so many meaningful ways. We are proud to have him as a member of our team and even more honored to call him a friend of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame,” says LIMHoF Chairman, Ernie Canadeo.
Mr. Alexenburg is set to release a new book entitled “From the Warehouse to the Penthouse” in the upcoming months. The book is a tell-all autobiography documenting his life in the music industry and much more.
