(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the drowning death of a man found unconscious at Smith Point County Park on Monday, June 22.
Seventh Precinct police officers responded to Smith Point County Park in Mastic Beach after a caller reported that a man was found unconscious in the water at approximately 12:15 p.m. Witnesses stated that they saw Kerry Agosto swimming in the water.

A few minutes later the witnesses observed Agosto floating near the shore. The beachgoers pulled Agosto, 48, of Ronkonkoma, out of the water and attempted CPR.
Agosto was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is continuing.
