(Long Island, NY) Major Case Bureau detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt man for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 1:30 am in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, after exiting a BP gas station store located on Nassau Road and W. Greenwich Avenue, the 43 year old male victim observed a male black exiting his car with his wallet and cell phone.

The subject fled on foot and was followed by the victim into the Quick Stop Deli, located at 528 Nassau Road. Once inside, an altercation ensued and the subject punched the victim in the face. The subject then simulated that he had a gun inside his sweat shirt pocket, threatened to shoot the victim and then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
A subsequent investigation by detectives revealed the identity of the subject; David Wheeler, 28. He was located in Roosevelt and placed under arrest on Monday, January 4, 2016.
Wheeler is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 1/5/2016.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
