(Queens, NY) Alzheimer’s is a disease that robs its victims of their memories. On Friday, August 9, in an effort to raise money for programs and services that aid Alzheimer’s, we can create new memories by attending a fabulous community event at the newly NYC landmarked Forest Park Carousel. New York Carousel Entertainment, LLC, operator of the Forest Park Carousel, will proudly host the second annual fundraiser for the New York City Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, in turn, donating all proceeds to the chapter.
Everyone is invited to this special event on Friday, August 9, from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Visitors will have access to unlimited carousel rides and face painting for $10 and individual rides for $3 (within the two-hour time span of the event). There will be snacks and refreshments provided, all efforts to benefit the New York City Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association.
The Forest Park Carousel is located in Forest Park off Woodhaven Boulevard and Forest Park Drive, Woodhaven (Queens, N.Y.). Free parking will be available next to the carousel in the bandshell lot. For additional information visit www.forestparkcarousel.com or feel free to email info@nycarousel.com. Phone calls can be directed to (718) 788-2676.
But the fun and fundraising does not end there. Join us for the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” on Sunday, September 29, 2013, on 56th Avenue and 111th Street in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. It is a 2-Mile Walk (rain or shine). The entire event will run from 9 AM to Noon. Registration for this event can be done online at www.alznyc.org/walk or call the 24-Hour Hotline (800) 272-3900.
All those who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease have the opportunity to help find a cure by participating in a clinical trial as well. For more information, please call the 24-Hour Hotline. If there are any concerns about a family member, loved one or yourself, please do not hesitate to call (800) 272-3900.
