(Long Island, NY) “I have been a strong advocate for making the tax cap permanent to ease the burden on Long Island families. The cap has worked well since it was implemented on an interim basis. It’s been keeping the amount of tax that hard-working families pay at reasonable levels, and we have been able to maintain quality education in our schools and sustain governmental functions at the same time. Now that we have passed the legislation to make the property tax cap permanent, it’s time that the Assembly follow our lead so the Governor can sign it into law.”
