(Long Island, NY) Senator Lee M. Zeldin, Republican Candidate for New York’s First Congressional District, has just received the endorsement of the Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) of the NYPD.
An independent union comprised of approximately 13,000 active and retired sergeants of the New York City Police Department, the organization acts as an advocate for its members and their families, ensuring the welfare of those who dedicate their lives to protecting New Yorkers.
“As a New York State Senator, former federal prosecutor and Army paratrooper, Lee Zeldin knows how to fight for the rights of those who sacrifice each and every day to safeguard New York. He has proven his ability to defend our Constitutional freedoms time and again and I am confident that he has what it takes to make a difference in D.C,” said Ed Mullins, President of the SBA. “Senator Zeldin was raised in a law enforcement household. Our members need an elected official who embodies our organizational values, and who is not afraid to stand up for our rights. Lee Zeldin is that candidate.”
The SBA is the first outside organization to officially endorse his candidacy.
“I am thankful to start this campaign off on the right foot with the backing of such a dedicated and honorable organization,” said Senator Zeldin upon accepting the endorsement. “The values of the SBA—integrity, duty, and hard work— are parallel with my own and I look forward to working with them to spread that message.”
