(Long Island, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrests of three men for Robbery from an incident that occurred in Hempstead on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:26 pm.
According to third squad detectives, at 8:15 pm Robert Brown, 16, of 43 Barry Drive, Westbury, Isaiah Byner, 17, of 124 Remsen Avenue Hempstead, and Floyd K. McNeil, 17, of 100 Avenue Terrace Avenue, Hempstead acted in consort when they entered the Yoilgi Unisex Salon located at 359 Clinton Avenue wearing masks and displaying handguns and demanded cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of US Currency and a handbag the defendants fled on foot.

At 9:25 pm the defendants displayed a knife and a handgun after approaching a 62 year old male victim and attempted to take his cash as he withdrew money from an ATM machine in front of 240 Main Street. The defendants fled on foot after observing a male passerby walking towards them. Hempstead Police Officers on patrol heard a description via the radio and located defendant Isaiah Byner in the vicinity of Kellum Place and Main Street. He was placed into police custody without incident. The knife was recovered.
At 10:08 pm defendants McNeil and Brown approached a 19 year male victim delivering Chinese food on Covert Street and demanded cash while displaying a handgun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash they fled on foot. After calling 911 the victim attempted to follow the defendants but stoped after a shot was fired at him on Front Street.
Shot Spotter was activated by the shot fired and a Nassau County Detective was able to locate and place Brown into police custody after a brief struggle. A loaded .380 handgun was recovered. McNeil was located by Nassau and Hempstead Detectives after a brief foot chase and was placed into police custody.
- Robert Brown is charged with 3 counts of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 2rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm 3rd Degree, and 3 counts Robbery 1st Degree.
- Isaiah Brown is charged with 3 counts of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
- Floyd McNeil is charged with 3 counts of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm 3rd Degree, and 3 counts of Robbery 1st Degree. All men will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 .
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
