(Rockville Centre, NY) Catholic Health Services (CHS) recently presented its Living the Mission Award to Felix Pabon-Ramirez for exemplifying the CHS mission values of respect, justice, integrity and excellence. Pabon-Ramirez was nominated for his outstanding qualities and received the award from CHS’s Chairman Richard J.J. Sullivan, Jr.
Pabon-Ramirez, of Sound Beach, is admired for challenging his team with positive encouragement, inspiring others with his enthusiasm, courtesy and sense of humor. “He gives everything he has and then some,” said a colleague, adding, “He has raised the bar.”
Assistant vice president of client services and continuing care for CHS’s Department of Information Technology, Pabon-Ramirez is a licensed medical technologist. Prior to joining CHS in 1998, he was on staff at Bellevue Hospital Center/NYU Medical Center for 10 years. He has taken an active role in health care policy, lobbying for the licensing of medical technologists and participating in various charitable events.
Over the years, Pabon-Ramirez has also provided assistance at community health fairs, in addition to volunteering his time and skills at CHS’s Healthy Sundays events, which offer free health screenings, vaccinations and education to medically undeserved Long Islanders.

With six acute care hospitals, three nursing homes, a home health agency, hospice, a community-based agency for persons with special needs and a regional lab, CHS’s high standards have resulted in a nearly 24% market share.
