(Long Island, NY) On Saturday November 23rd and Sunday November 24th, 2013– Members of the North Babylon Lions Club and the North Babylon Athletic Club will take to the fields of North Babylon High School and Robert Moses Middle School to raise funds and Promote Youth Lacrosse. Funds collected will be used to help local food pantries support local families in need. Some of the other projects that the funds will support are subsidizing Youth Lacrosse programs. Continuation of granting Scholarships to local youth, and providing resources to individuals who are visually impaired are also programs that will benefit from this great event.
Mr. Edward Meinhold, President of the North Babylon Lions Club is excited to announce that every team that is participating is being asked to donate a food basket or bags of canned food and non-perishable items. The community is also being asked to bring these items to the Showmobile that will be parked in the vendor village behind the High School.
NBAC Lacrosse Commissioner John Heegan explained that the tournament is divided into two days of competition. On Saturday, November 23rd starting at
8 am to 4 pm, 2nd/3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Grade will be playing. On Sunday, November 24th , 7th, 8th and JV will be playing. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games. Town, Travel and elite teams are encouraged to participate. The registration fee is $675 per team. This includes Officials at every game. Deadline to register your team is 11/15/2013. As an added bonus, on Saturday, November 23rd. The North Babylon High School PTSA will be hosting a Vendor Craft Fair in the Cafeteria. There will be handmade crafts as well as new merchandise. Get in some great holiday shopping while you are waiting to watch your favorite team play. Outside their will be a Sports oriented Vendor village with loads of lacrosse gear for sale at reasonable prices. Delicious hot food will also be available.
The NBAC will also have an early registration booth setup at the tournament. Please come by and visit and see why Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing
