(WEST ISLIP, NY) It is an exciting time at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School as the top student-athletes are selecting their colleges. The SJB community is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of many of its student-athletes. The following athletes signed letters of intent:
- Caroline Herrera, Deer Park resident – Girls Volleyball – NYIT
- Sophia Evangelista, Massapequa resident –Softball – NYIT
- Morgan Jaycox, Amityville resident – Girls Lacrosse– Marist College
- Kaitlyn Montalbano, West Islip resident – Girls Lacrosse –Towson University
- Paige O’Neill, Amityville resident – Girls Lacrosse–Bentley University
The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a document used by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to indicate a student athlete‘s commitment to participating in interscholastic athletics in the United States.

“As AD, It’s a very proud moment when you realize that your student- athletes have achieved their goals. I’m overjoyed for them, proud of their coaches, and feel privileged to have played a small part in the process. They have given us so much, and my hope for them going forward is that they follow their dreams and are successful at the next level. They always know SJB is their home and are always welcomed back to share their experiences”, said Lorraine Bouklas, Girls Athletic Director.
