“Today, I join all New Yorkers in welcoming Pope Francis to our great state this evening. Pope Francis has been an inspiration to millions of people around the world, and a forceful advocate for combating climate change, reducing global poverty, and eliminating income inequality. It’s an honor, and truly exciting, to have him in New York spreading his message of charity and equality.”
