(Long Island, NY) “While it is disappointing that New York was given a ‘D-minus’ ranking for state government ethics, it is not surprising. Scandal after scandal has rocked New Yorkers’ faith in their elected representatives and no meaningful ethics reforms have been passed due to Senate Republican obstructionism. The Senate Democrats have advocated for cleaning up Albany and restoring the public’s trust in our state government but have been repeatedly stymied by the Senate Republican Majority. Maybe now Senate Republicans will be convinced that New Yorkers and the nation expect and deserve more and they will finally work with us to enact real ethics reforms.”
