(Long Island, NY) Senate Democratic Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins made the following statement on the on Renewal of Zadroga Act:
“I am very pleased that the Zadroga Act has been renewed for 75 years and I congratulate lead sponsor Senator Gillibrand, Senator Schumer, and all the members of the New York State Congressional Delegation who fought hard to achieve this success. There should be no question that all those who selflessly gave their service in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks are deserving of our support and assistance. Under the leadership of Senators Gillibrand and Schumer as well as the tireless work of both Democratic and Republican Congressional representatives, we have finally ensured that our first responders will receive the care they deserve.”
