Brookhaven Deputy Superintendent of Highways to take on Legislator Anker in the November Election
(Long Island, NY) Steve Tricarico, Deputy Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Brookhaven, announced his campaign today for county legislator in the sixth district. A lifelong Suffolk resident raised in the Shoreham-Wading River community, Steve is concerned with the financial state of our county and the ability for friends and neighbors to remain on Long Island.

“As a local resident and concerned parent, I see how the poor budget decisions made by the county legislature continue to dig ourselves deeper and deeper into debt,” stated Tricarico. “I have worked hard with Superintendent Dan Losquadro at the Brookhaven Highway Department to make it more accountable to the taxpayer and show residents that when managed properly, government can accomplish what’s necessary without breaking the bank.”
Steve’s campaign will focus on the issues facing Suffolk County including the record debt of more than $1.8 billion, the lack of planning to keep young people here and maintaining flat taxes while providing the services taxpayers expect and deserve.
“The residents of the sixth district deserve a legislator that will ask the tough questions and make the difficult decisions to keep Suffolk County an affordable place to live, work and raise a family,” said Tricarico. “I look forward to bringing my message of fiscal conservativism to the voters of the sixth district and will continue to advocate on the taxpayer’s behalf because they deserve a problem solver, not another politician.”
The sixth legislative district consists of 50 election districts with over 50,000 voters. The district encompasses the northeast portion of the Town of Brookhaven and includes the hamlets of Miller Place, Sound Beach, Shoreham, Rocky Point and parts of Mount Sinai, Ridge, Middle Island, Coram and Wading River.
