(Long Island, NY) As part of the County Executive Bellone’s overall substance abuse initiative, the County has expanded Operation Medicine Cabinet to senior centers within the jurisdiction of the Suffolk County Police Department. The first Wednesday of every month, senior citizens and members of the community will have the ability to drop of their prescription drugs at designated senior centers.
The expansion of Operation Medicine Cabinet will provide residents with additional opportunities to drop of their unused medications so that they stay out of the hands of those they are not prescribed for and out of Suffolk County’s Drinking Water.
