(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating a fatal fire that occurred in Shirley on Sunday, February 7.
Seventh Precinct officers responded to a residence on Manor Drive at 3:17 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a fire in a detached garage at the location. After the fire was extinguished, the body a man, who lived in an apartment in the garage, was located inside.

Detectives are awaiting positive identification of the man from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The cause of the fire appears to be non-criminal.
The investigation is continuing.
