(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Bay Shore on Friday February 26.
Brian Cook was traveling southbound on Brentwood Road near the westbound Sunrise Highway Service Road in his 2007 Toyota Rav4, when he struck pedestrian Eckdron Burney on Friday night at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Burney, 43, was transported to Southside hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.
Cook, 63, of Rocky Point, was not injured and stayed at the scene. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
The investigation is continuing.
