(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Hate Crime Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two people who distracted an elderly man and stole money from him in Smithtown in October.

A man followed an elderly man into Chase Bank, located at 705 Route 347, and observed him withdraw money from his account on October 31. The suspect and another man followed the victim to New York Community Bank, located at 719 Route 347, at approximately 11:40 a.m.

When the victim wasn’t looking, one of the men distracted the victim while the other man entered the victim’s vehicle and stole money.
