(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County District Attorney has directed a West Babylon man, indicted as the operator of the motor vehicle that struck and killed Michael Dora while he was in his wheelchair on October 16, 2015, to appear in court tomorrow, Tuesday March 29th, in Central Islip before Acting Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho.
An indictment against Christopher Bacayon, the driver of the vehicle that left the scene after fatally striking Mr. Dora, was unsealed today. The defendant is the twin brother of a convicted hit and run driver. Details will be discussed at a press briefing that will take place at 12:00 pm in the District Attorney’s conference room at the North County Complex, Building 77, Hauppauge, NY.
Justice Camacho will call the arraignment calendar at 2:00 pm.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
