(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a crash that critically injured a motorcyclist on Sunday, March 13.
Ronald Starke was traveling eastbound on North Country Road near Mountain Ridge Drive on a 2003 Indian motorcycle when he was struck by a westbound 2002 Subaru Outback operated by Yokito Yoneyama.

Starke, 60, of Mount Sinai was transported via Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical condition.
Yoneyama, 36, of Rocky Point, was transported via Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was treated for minor injuries and released. He was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to contact the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
