(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police today arrested two gang members on drug charges and seized weapons following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Huntington today.
As part of the Suffolk County Police Department’s continuing enforcement efforts in the Town of Huntington, Narcotics Section detectives, Second Precinct Special Operations Team detectives, Criminal Intelligence Bureau detectives, and officers from the Second Precinct Gang Unit, Emergency Service Section and Canine Section, a search warrant was executed on Cedar Drive today. Investigators seized a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun, cocaine, marijuana, cash, digital scales and an assortment of drug packaging equipment. The drugs had a street value of more than $3,000.

Wesley Erickson, 31, a resident of the home, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Andre Knox, 37, of Huntington Station, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
Erickson and Knox, who are both members of the Old Station Soldiers gang, will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on September 11.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
