(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man who was killed in a North Bellport shooting early on Thursday, November 5.
Fifth Precinct patrol officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Bellport Avenue at 12:54 a.m. When they arrived, the officers discovered Robert Burks, 52, lying in front of a residence on Bellport Avenue.

Burks, of North Bellport, had been shot and killed by an unknown suspect.
