“Bill Lindsay has been a tremendous advocate for teachers and labor unions alike throughout the course of his first term and we need to keep qualified elected officials, who understand the needs of our faculty in office,” said Kevin Peterman, President of FASCC. I am confident in Bill’s proven track record of working for the betterment of the College and I know with certainty that he will always continue to fight for the needs of our teachers, faculty and students. I am proud to say that Legislator Lindsay has the full support of the Faculty Association for his re-election bid on November 3rd.”
In his first term, Lindsay, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, helped put Suffolk County’s finances back on track by holding the line on taxes and passing two consecutive balanced budgets that did not exceed the tax cap. He led the fight to consolidate the Suffolk County Treasurer’s office and the Suffolk County Comptroller’s office, which reduced management, secured civil service jobs, made the office more efficient, and saved 1.29 million dollars. In addition, Lindsay advocated for additional assistance to ensure that the College has the necessary funding and resources to grow and advance their curriculum and that the faculty has the tools in place to provide the best education at an affordable rate to Suffolk County residents.

“As the brother of a Suffolk County teacher, I understand that when our teachers have a quality work environment and the necessary tools and resources in place to educate our students, there are endless opportunities for our children to be successful,” said Legislator Lindsay. I will always continue to support educational policies that promote a teacher’s ability to educate our students and I am extremely proud to have the endorsement of so many hardworking teachers and faculty throughout Suffolk County.”
Legislator Bill Lindsay represents the 8th legislative district, which consists of Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Holbrook, Holtsville, Oakdale, Sayville, West Sayville and parts of North Patchogue, Ronkonkoma, and Medford.
