(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of three men for Attempted Murder that occurred on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 8:20 PM in Valley Stream.
According to Special Investigation Squad detectives, a male victim, 27, while attempting to recover property for a female acquaintance did enter a residence on Jedwood Place. While inside, the victim was confronted by occupants of the residence and was kicked, punched and struck in the head with a black handgun.
The victim was handcuffed, placed in a bathtub and stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife. The victim was removed from the tub, placed in a vehicle and driven to Midvale Lane, Valley Stream where he was removed from the vehicle. The subjects fled the scene and the defendant walked to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries.
Subsequent investigation by detectives led to the arrest of the defendants:
Johnathan Faneytt, 21, of Valley Stream is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, 3 counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and unrelated warrant charges.

Jesus V. Maldonado, 22, of West Hempstead is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th degree.

Jorge Freire- Romero, 19, of Valley Stream is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Kidnapping 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree.

The defendants will be arraigned on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
