Children And Families In Crisis On Long Island To Be Discussed
(Long Island, NY) The Top Women in Law for 2016 will be honored at a reception, featuring a keynote address by Nassau District Attorney Madeline Singas, hosted by the Hofstra University School of Law, Today Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 12 pm noon, Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, 500 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY. This event is organized by the Center for Children, Families and the Law at Hofstra University, a new crisis law center under the leadership of Executive Director Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, previously the Chief Administrative Judge of the Courts of New York State. Appointed by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman, Prudenti supervised the administration and operation of the statewide court system, with a budget of over $2.7 billion, 3,600 state and locally paid judges and 15,000 non-judicial employees in over 350 court facilities. Today, woman attorneys are represented in the highest echelons of the legal profession and the judiciary. Women now comprise a majority of the New York Court of Appeals and nearly half the Appellate Division.
