(Long Island, NY) Second Squad detectives report the arrests two Levittown men for an Assault that occurred on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:10 pm in Levittown.
According to detectives, while exiting his place of employment, Escorza Restaurant located at 2715 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, the 30 year old male victim was approached by Carlos Alfredo-Rivera, 20, and Darwin Noel Caballero, 20.

Defendant Alfredo-Rivera grabbed the victim punched and kicked him numerous after throwing him onto the ground. Defendant Caballero then struck the victim over the head with an aluminum pipe.

The victim was treated at a hospital and later released.
Alfredo-Rivera was arrested at the scene, while Caballero surrendered to police on Monday, February 8. The two suspects were charged with second-degree assault. Caballero was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
