(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of two men for Possession of a Forged Instrument on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 7:25 P.M. in East Garden City.
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, Third Precinct officers were notified by Bloomingdales security of suspicious activity involving credit cards. Courtney D. Vickers, 36, of Far Rockaway, and Lashawaun Williams, 22, of Arvene, NY were observed attempting to make purchases at a register using several credit cards which were denied.

When responding officers located the defendants Vickers fought with them in attempt to avoid arrest. Additional officers were requested and the use of an Electronic Control Devise was used on Vickers to make the arrest. No injuries were reported. Each man was found to be in possession of three re-encoded credit cards.

Both men are charged with three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree. Vickers is additionally charged with Resisting Arrest. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
