(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police have arrested two people following a fight outside a Bay Shore bar that resulted in multiple injuries on Sunday, March 13.
Third Precinct officers responded to Coopersmith’s Pub, located at 615 East Main St., at approximately 3:10 a.m. after a fight broke out in the parking lot. A 35-year-old man was slashed with a box cutter in the face and ear and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During the fight, Ronald Ashley attempted to leave the scene and in the process struck four people, including the man who committed the slashing, with his vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Corolla. Ashley then drove into the parking lot of 605 East Main St. where he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pillar. Ashley, 27, of Brentwood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and four counts of Assault 3rd Degree.
Paul Wells, 28, of West Babylon, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree for the slashing and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Wells will be arraigned at a later date.
The three other people who were hit by the Corolla suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
