(Long Island, NY) As part of the Long Island Heroin Initiative, Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives report the arrests of two Hempstead men which occurred on Monday, 05/25/15 at 10:15 P.M. in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Reginald Thorton, 22, acting in consort with Daquan McCall, 21, while on Ingraham Street sold Oxycodone to another for an agreed upon amount of money. Subsequent to the arrest a loaded handgun was found inside the automobile.

Thorton is being charged with four (4) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a weapon 2nd degree. McCall is being charged with Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a weapon 2nd degree.

Both defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, 05/26/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
